Dear ITS America Members, Industry Partners, and Friends,
I’m thrilled to kick off 2018 with several exciting announcements – changes we are making at ITS America to better serve our membership and fulfill our mission to advance the deployment of ITS technologies in order to save lives.
Over the course of the past several months, the staff at ITS America have listened to you, our members, to learn how we can better service you and increase our importance to both your business and your people. The ITS America Board of Directors enthusiastically approved a new membership plan which emphasizes the principles and core elements of the ITS America community, while also incorporating necessary adjustments for the future.
Membership in 2018
Our new membership plan will focus on three key areas. First, advancing technical work and advocacy– establishing committees and councils to tackle the most pressing issues in mobility, and keeping our members informed of the key issues that affect our industry. Second, professional development – serving our members as a resource and thought leader in policy and technological advancements. And third, Member-to-Member engagement – establishing connections amongst our private company and public agency members.
We have listened to your feedback, and are offering the following enhanced member benefits to provide more value:
· Additional educational opportunities: member and staff led webinars, small group seminars, and one-day professional development programs on a variety of topics.
· Continued large-scale intelligent transportation industry convening at the ITS America Annual Meetings and ITS World Congresses, collectively attracting over 10,000 attendees.
· Exclusive networking events like happy hours and intimate group meet-ups will allow for continued networking opportunities amongst public and private ITS professionals.
· Enhanced working groups, committees, and councils that will tackle the challenges facing the future of mobility and technology deployment.
· Our technology programs department, serving as a continued resource for research and development.
· Communication of breaking ITS policy, legislative, and regulatory news; and advocacy regarding your interests on Capitol Hill.
· Promotion of your products, projects, and technology advancements.
Additionally, I am pleased to announce some staffing changes and promotions, effective January 2, 2018, that will allow us to execute on these new initiatives and provide high quality member services.
