The U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) will host a webinar about the connected vehicle applications being developed as part of the New York City Connected Vehicle Pilot. Representatives from the pilot will share their experiences in designing safety-related connected vehicle applications; identify technical and other barriers they face and how they are addressing them; and discuss the eventual testing and performance measurement of the applications.
The New York City pilot is part of the USDOT Intelligent Transportation Systems Joint Program Office's Connected Vehicle Pilot Deployment Program, which is pioneering the deployment of connected vehicle technologies in three U.S. locations--New York City, NY; Tampa, FL; and Wyoming. The pilot program will demonstrate how safety-related warnings and other connected vehicle applications can be deployed in the real world to address safety, mobility, and environmental goals. Currently, the three sites are nearing the end of a 20-month phase to design, build, and test these deployments of integrated wireless in-vehicle, mobile device, and roadside technologies.
To hear from site leaders who are breaking new ground in connected vehicle deployment, please register for this webinar.
