Director, Toll Operations
Washington State Department of Transportation
Salary: $88,032 - $112,884 annually depending on qualifications
Location: Seattle, WA

This individual directs statewide toll operation efforts to ensure that all systems, services and operations are aligned and interoperable. Primary responsibilities include oversight of toll systems and services including the operation, financial accounting and reporting, technical interoperability and toll payment enforcement for statewide toll systems. This position also provides the strategic vision for WSDOT toll operations policy balances competing visions with toll planning and project development and develops and implements toll operations services for the state. 
 
Provides leadership to the expansion of the tolling function at WSDOT from a localized function to a new toll division with statewide responsibilities for all current and future toll projects. 
 
This position leads the Toll Operations Organization, a professional staff of disciplines including customer service, adjudication and enforcement, information technology, accounting, budgeting, traffic operations, maintenance and engineering and directly manages WSDOT's delivery of oversight responsibilities. E-ZPass Management Information Specialist (Temporary)

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is a bi-state public agency responsible for promoting transportation and commerce, operating some of the busiest and most important transportation links in the region including bridges, tunnels, bus terminals, airports, PATH, AirTrain systems, the NY/NJ seaport. The Tunnels, Bridges and Terminals Department are currently seeking an E-ZPass Management Information Specialist in its Regional E-ZPass Division. The position will be filled on a temporary basis.
 
Under the direction of the Supervisor, E-ZPass Technical Services, the selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing Integrated Toll Collection System (ITCS) operations to provide improved control of system operation and maintenance activities. This will include: early detection of equipment problems; diagnosis of system/component problems; providing assurances against extended periods of undetected component failures; and overseeing system administration to ensure optimal equipment functioning of subsystems. The selected candidate will also research and develop procedures, manuals and other documents on a variety of ITCS maintenance issues; prepare written correspondence, reports and presentations; and prepare and monitor performance measures.
 
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in a technical discipline.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in engineering, IT, project management or toll operations environment.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Knowledge of toll plaza maintenance procedures.
  • Knowledge of toll collection equipment, data networking and computer servers.
  • Knowledge of regional E-ZPass program and customer service center operations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of facility operations.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in various computer driven programs and experience manipulating data with the use of MS Applications.
  • Valid driver’s license
