Call for Abstracts Announced for 2010 National Rural ITS Conference

 
HUNTINGTON, WV, Nov. 20 – The 2010 National Rural ITS Conference Planning committee would like to invite you to submit an abstract for presentation at the Conference in Huntington, West Virginia. All abstracts must be received by Monday, February 1, 2010 and authors should take care to ensure that abstracts submitted follow the guidelines. Abstracts are encouraged to fall into one of the following topic areas related to Rural ITS, but abstracts outside these areas will also be considered:
  • Commercial Vehicle and Freight Mobility
  • Communications
  • Emergency Medical Service Coordination
  • Impact of ITS on Incident Management Practices
  • Impact On and Coordination with Tourism
  • 511 and Traveler Information Systems
  • ITS Planning, Deployment, and Sustainability
  • ITS on Public Lands
  • Livable/Sustainable Communities
  • Multi-Agency Coordination
  • Multimodal Connections and Information Sharing
  • Non-Highway ITS applications
  • Results/Reports from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Funded Projects
  • Road and Weather Information Systems
  • Rural Transit and Paratransit
  • Technology for Unique Populations (i.e., elderly, Native American, etc.)
  • Technology Evaluation
  • Wildlife Detection
  • Workforce Development
