The Intelligent Transportation Society of America (ITS America), in partnership with ITS California, Caltrans and the Green Parking Council Building, are excited to announce the next installment of ITS America’s regional event series.

Based on the overwhelming success of the New Jersey Smart Parking Symposium, we are bringing this event to the West Coast. This event will cover the latest in smart parking technology, its application in the public space and the environmental and economic impact on the municipalities and private organizations that have implemented smart parking technology. This event aims to foster communication between the public and private sectors in order to facilitate the implementation of smart parking technologies and increase understanding of their impact on the community.The ITS America Smart Parking Symposium will address:

This panel explores an innovative approach to long-haul truck parking management using ITS technologies. Speakers will discuss technology, challenges in implementing a smart parking approach for trucks, as well as business model and research understanding. This panel explores the SFpark program in the city of San Francisco--the largest of its kind in dynamically managing parking supply to encourage turnover, as well as modal shifts and congestion reduction. Panelists include federal and local governmental partners, a UC Berkeley professor/researcher, and Streetsmart Technology LLC. They will explore lessons learned and research understanding from this project to date.
