Reverse Trade Mission Liaoning Safety Delegation
The delegation followed the itinerary in the table. At CHART of Maryland State Highway Administration, CHART’s deputy director, Glenn McLaughlin, facilitated the tour in the traffic management center. In particular, he introduced how police and traffic management staff at DOT collaborate in first response, incident management, traffic surveillance etc. At ITS America, Nu Rosenbohm, CTO, welcomed the delegation by introducing ITS America’s roles, and US regulation on driver’s teaching, test, and grading system, road safety planning and implementation, and Intelligent Transportation System’s architecture and implementation, technology and research trends. Lastly, at Alexandria Police Department, Deputy Chief Eddie L. Reyes, explained how local police department interface with local government, facilitate traffic management and first response, as well as other issues in law enforcement. He also showed the delegation the laser speed detection device, communication and other law enforcement equipment.

Traffic Management Center- CHART is a joint effort of the Maryland Department of Transportation, Maryland Transportation Authority and the Maryland State Police, in cooperation with other federal, state and local agencies.
