Connected Vehicle Research and Policy Program

Connected Vehicle Public Meeting

September 24 - 26, 2013

The USDOT will host its annual public meeting providing an overview of the Intelligent Transportation Systems Joint Programs office’s (ITS JPO) connected vehicle research program.

The Connected Vehicle public meeting is the best opportunity to learn details about the connected vehicle research program in anticipation of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s 2013 decision regarding vehicle safety communications for light vehicles and 2014 decision for heavy vehicles.

The ITS Safety and Policy Program Public Meeting will be held from September 24 to 26, 2013, at the Holiday Inn in Arlington, VA. The meeting will include a special session dedicated to the ITS strategic plan for 2015 to 2019, as well as sessions discussing the status of key research within the ITS JPO’s connected vehicle safety program, such as vehicle-to-vehicle communications, vehicle-to-infrastructure communications, and policy for safety (e.g., governance, certification, and privacy).

The event provides an opportunity for participants to get a comprehensive understanding of and provide input on the safety program’s major activities. The agenda for the meeting will be posted soon on the ITS JPO website at
