Communications Director

As director of communications, Ashley Simmons leads ITS America’s strategic member and advocacy communications and media outreach efforts.

Before joining ITS America, Simmons was an account director with the David All Group. In that role, she managed multiple client accounts focused on digital strategy and emerging technology integration for issue-advocacy campaigns and online reputation management for D.C.’s most prominent trade associations and Fortune 500 companies.

Prior to her time with the David All Group, Simmons developed expertise in media relations and shaping outreach strategies to drive policy initiatives on behalf of the high-tech sector as the communications director of the Information Technology Industry Council (ITI).  Simmons has also worked in the communications department of the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) where she represented the association as a press liaison and supported advocacy efforts on intellectual property.

Prior to her career in Washington, D.C., Simmons has held communications positions with Travers Collins & Company, multiple local political campaigns and with the Erie County Legislature in her hometown of Buffalo, New York.

Simmons has a Master of Art’s in Media and Public Affairs from the George Washington University and a B.A. in Public Communication and Political Science from Buffalo State College.
