Sarah Clements is a transportation planner with experience at the federal and regional levels. A former daily newspaper reporter, she focuses on writing and editing technical reports and developing outreach materials at ITS America. She also manages transit ITS projects in order to educate the transit community about ITS deployment.
Sarah’s work at ITS America includes managing a project to update an online ITS handbook, editing reports on new ITS technologies, surveying transit agencies on the benefits of ITS and challenges to further deployment, and helping to organize workshops to showcase transit agencies’ best practices in ITS.
Sarah has worked both for a metropolitan planning organization, the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments, and for the federal Department of Transportation, where she worked at the Federal Highway Administration and the Federal Transit Administration. She has written reports on transit ridership, the environmental review process for transportation projects, traffic volumes and congestion issues.
