ITS America Seeks Candidates for 2011 World Congress Chair
WASHINGTON, DC, Feb. 1, 2008 - In 2011, ITS America will host
the World Congress on Intelligent Transport Systems in Orlando,
Florida. As we prepare for this event, ITS America Board Chair Mike
Doyle will consider candidates for appointment as chair of the
World Congress Organizing Committee. All members of ITS America are
eligible to serve and we are now seeking candidates for this
position.
Job requirements include:

A firm three-year personal commitment to the effort.

The commitment of his or her company or agency for:
-
a significant amount of his or her time to devote to World Congress
-
funds to cover his or her travel and other World Congress-related expenses
-
several additional full- or part-time technical and support staff members
-
-
Prior experience as a:
-
key committee leader of a previous World Congress (program, finance, operations, demonstration program)
-
project manager of large-scale projects
-
-
A wide circle on contacts in key World Congress sponsor segments (e.g., federal and local government, finance community, communications-electronics, tier one automotive suppliers)
-
Experience working with ITS America's World Congress partners - ITS Japan and ERTICO (as well as the ITS Congress Association)
-
Event management experience would be a real plus.

Ability to mediate complex situations.

Demeanor of a senior executive and diplomat.

Ability and commitment to work positively with all members of ITS America governance and staff.
