Registration and Housing Opens for 15th World Congress on Intelligent Transport Systems

WASHINGTON, DC, April 1, 2008 - The Intelligent Transportation Society of America has announced that online registration and housing for the 15th World Congress on Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), featuring ITS America's 2008 Annual Meeting, is now open. This event will take place November 16-20, 2008 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City. Early Registration Rate Available
The four-day delegate early registration rate of $975 is available through September 1, 2008. Special rates for speakers and moderators, one-day delegates, accompanying persons, and students are also available.
Housing
You must be registered for the World Congress on ITS in order to make a hotel reservation. Hotel reservations will not be processed without a completed registration. By staying in the World Congress' official room block, you will receive special, discounted room rates. Do not contact the hotels directly. In order to receive the discounted room rate, you must make your hotel reservations through the World Congress.
The main hotel is the Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers which offers a standard room rate of $259 (single/double) and a government rate of $311 (single/double). The Sheraton Manhattan at Times Square offers a standard room rate of $217 (single/double).
Visa Information
If you require a visa to enter the U.S. to attend the 15th World Congress on ITS, apply now. Even if you didn't need a visa for previous visits to the U.S., you are encouraged to double check the current requirements. U.S. regulations now require security checks for most visitor visas, a process that may take six months or more. Citizens of certain countries must have an invitation in hand before they can obtain a passport from their government, and then apply for a U.S. visa.
