Intelligent Transportation Society of America Announces Election of New Board Members

WASHINGTON, DC, December 18, 2008 - The Intelligent Transportation Society of America (ITS America) announces the election of two members to its board of directors. Dana C. Christensen, Ph.D, of Oak Ridge National Laboratory and Jill M. Ingrassia of the American Automobile Association (AAA) were elected during the association's recent board of directors meeting held in Washington, DC.
"We are thrilled to welcome these two distinguished professionals to our board of directors," said Scott F. Belcher, president and CEO of ITS America. "We know that their broad experience will be invaluable to furthering of ITS America's vision at this critically important time in the transportation industry."
Christensen is the associate laboratory director of the energy and engineering sciences directorate of the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. The directorate is the U.S. Department of Energy's largest energy research and technology organization, annually executing over $350 million of programs for a variety of government and industrial sponsors in all aspects of energy science and technology.
Ingrassia is the managing director of government relations & traffic safety advocacy at AAA. She directs federal and state government relations and traffic safety focusing on a full range of safety, mobility, and consumer issues affecting travelers. During her time at AAA, Ingrassia has been involved in transportation policy, leading AAA's efforts in two surface transportation funding reauthorization cycles. She also represents AAA on numerous committees and coalitions with national transportation and safety organizations.
