WASHINGTON, DC, February 5, 2009 - ITS America is proud to announce that Southwest Research Institute will sponsor the Student Essay Competition at the ITS America 2009 Annual Meeting and Exposition set for June 1-3 at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, MD.

The Student Essay Competition is designed to encourage student interest and future participation in the development of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), provide an opportunity for today's transportation and engineering students to apply their knowledge in a thought-provoking and hopefully enjoyable competition, and build awareness of ITS as a career path with unlimited potential.

Three winners will be honored at the ITS America Business Meeting on Monday June 1, 2009 at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center. A call for entries will be announced soon. For more information on the student essay competition, please click here.
