Intelligent Transportation Society of America Adds New Board Members
WASHINGTON, DC, May 6, 2009 - The Intelligent Transportation
Society of America (ITS America) announced that Michael Huerta of
MPH Consulting LLC, Ken Philmus of ACS Transportation Systems and
Services, and David Sparks of TransCore were appointed to the
society's board of directors.
Ken Philmus is the senior vice president and managing director
of the ACS Transportation Systems and Services line of business
where he oversees electronic toll collection operations and
technology implementation for many of the largest toll agencies in
the United States. Among his client responsibilities are toll
operations at agencies such as MTA Bridges and Tunnels in New York,
the New Jersey Turnpike, the Port Authority of New York and New
Jersey, the Maryland Transportation Authority, Orlando Orange
County Expressway Authority the Bay Area Transportation Authority
and the Golden Gate Bridge. Philmus is returning to ITS America's
Board of Directors after leaving his position at DMJM Harris.
Michael Huerta recently formed MPH Consulting, LLC after a
successful career leading ACS' Transportation Solutions business as
executive vice president and group president of the transportation
solutions group. Huerta is returning to ITS America's Board of
Directors and will resume his position as vice chairman of the
board.
As Executive Vice President Transportation Systems &
Services, David Sparks is responsible for TransCore's revenue
management systems and intelligent transportation systems (ITS)
business group. These operations include TransCore's toll, airport
and traffic management-related activities. He has been an officer
with TransCore since 1991, with sales and profit and loss
responsibilities for domestic and foreign operating units. His
experience with TransCore includes corporate development focusing
on solutions and applications of the company's core technologies,
establishing the company's first toll collection customer service
center operation, and acting as the company's interim chief
financial officer.
