Intelligent Transportation Society of America announces new board members
WASHINGTON, DC, June 8, 2009 - The Intelligent Transportation
Society of America (ITS America) announced the election of a new
chairman, vice chairwoman, and three members to its board of
directors. The election results were announced at a meeting of the
board in Washington, DC.
Michael Huerta, president of MPH Consulting, LLC, is the new
chairman of the board, succeeding Randell H. Iwasaki, whose
one-year term ended on June 3. Iwasaki remains on the board as
immediate past chairman. Huerta recently formed MPH Consulting, LLC
after a successful career leading ACS' Transportation Solutions
business as executive vice president and group president of the
transportation solutions group.
Ann Flemer, deputy director of operations for the Metropolitan
Transportation Commission (MTC), the metropolitan planning
organization for the San Francisco Bay Area, is the vice chairwoman
of the board. Flemer oversees the agency's Traveler Coordination
and Information Section and the Bridge and Highway Operations
Section, as well as internal administration and information
technology services for MTC.
Abbas Mohaddes, president and CEO of Iteris, Inc., is the
treasurer and Dick Landis, president and CEO of HELP, Inc.
continues his position as secretary of the board.

development, and deployment of intelligent transportation systems
is vital to the economic recovery of our nation's
infrastructure. ITS America is at the forefront of transportation
issues. This engagement ensures that ITS America will continue to
have a strong leadership role in shaping the future of
transportation."
Gerry M. Mooney, general manager, global government and
education, IBM; Keith Puls, vice president of sales, Verizon
Business and Janette Sadik-Khan, commissioner, New York City
Department of Transportation are the newest members to the board of
directors.
"Gerry, Keith, and Janette have long and deep ties to the
intelligent transportation systems community," said ITS America
President and CEO Scott F. Belcher. "ITS America will now enjoy the
benefits of their respective expertise, vision, and leadership in a
meaningful way."
The following directors were re-elected to the board: John
Inglish, general manager and CEO, Utah Transit Authority; Jill
Ingrassia, managing director, government relations & traffic
safety advocacy, AAA; Dick Landis, president and CEO, HELP, Inc.;
and Bill Russell, president and CEO, Eberle Design, Inc.
