“Moving Cooler: Transportation Strategies to Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions” Report Policy Briefing Announced for July 28

WASHINGTON, DC, July 20, 2009 - Save the date for a briefing on the first-ever comprehensive analysis of transportation efficiency and its relationship to greenhouse gas reductions and consumer savings. The report, "Moving Cooler: Transportation Strategies to Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions," was commissioned by a diverse group of stakeholders including the Intelligent Transportation Society of America representing transportation experts, industry, federal agencies, and environmental organizations and other NGOs. As transportation and climate legislation is being developed in Congress, this new groundbreaking report will inform the debate.

The program will feature remarks by Dean Schwanke, Senior Vice President, Urban Land Institute; a presentation of research findings by Joanne Potter, Lead Researcher, Cambridge Systematics; and a panel discussion/Q&A by Peter Lehner, Executive Director, Natural Resources Defense Council; Bill Millar, President, American Public Transportation Association; and Scott Belcher, President and CEO, Intelligent Transportation Society of America.
