ITS America's New Forum Addresses Sustainability and Transportation
WASHINGTON, Sept. 10, 2009 - ITS America appreciates your
commitment to solving problems in your community using Intelligent
Transportation Systems. That appreciation is demonstrated in our
commitment to provide you with essential tools to help you to
deploy ITS and make your business more successful. One of these
tools is ITS America's Sustainability Forum.
ITS America's Forums are arenas for volunteer-driven
committees to serve as the focal point for dialogue, problem
solving and networking on the challenges and opportunities
surrounding research and deployment of ITS. Additionally, the
Forums provide the technical focus for ITS America's work. When you
participate in a Forum, you guarantee your organization a steady
flow of information and knowledge from ITS America.
The Sustainability Forum is collecting and evaluating data to
better understand the relationships between transportation systems,
traveler behavior, and climate change; supporting research and the
identification of existing and emerging technologies to address the
relationship between transportation and climate change; and
informing the public, policymakers and lawmakers about the
capability of transportation technologies, operational strategies,
funding mechanisms, and integrated traffic management systems to
affect traveler behavior and/or reduce fuel consumption.
