National transportation technology organization seeks public affairs specialist
WASHINGTON, DC, Sept. 30 - The Intelligent Transportation
Society of America (ITS America), a nonprofit association which
represents nearly 400 transportation agencies, private sector
companies, and academic institutions, is seeking a public affairs
specialist to lead the organization's media outreach
activities.
Key responsibilities will include developing an effective
message and outreach strategy to promote the broader use of
intelligent transportation systems, planning and executing
high-impact media events to promote the organization's legislative
priorities, and developing relationships with key transportation
and technology reporters and media personalities.
The incumbent will also work with Congressional offices and
stakeholders to showcase the positive impacts of technology on
preventing transportation-related injuries and fatalities,
improving mobility and the efficiency of the transportation
network, and reducing transportation's impact on the
environment. In addition, the incumbent will work with a small team
of professionals to track transportation, technology and
environmental legislation and to identify opportunities and
strategies for advancing the organization's legislative
priorities.
Candidates should have at least 3-5 years of experience
working with the news media. Experience working for or with
Congress or on political campaigns is also strongly
