Intelligent Transportation Society of America announces formation of Gulf Region ITS Chapter
Gulf Region ITS to hold first meeting in November
WASHINGTON, DC, Oct. 30 - The Intelligent Transportation
Society of America (ITS America) announced today the formation of
the Gulf Region Intelligent Transportation Society (Gulf Region
ITS), a multi-state chapter covering Louisiana, Mississippi and
Alabama.
Gulf Region ITS will hold its first meeting November 17-19,
2009 in Biloxi, MS. The purpose of the meeting is to inform and
educate stakeholders in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama of
current and planned programs, policies and technologies for
application of intelligent transportation systems at the regional,
state, and local levels. The program will provide attendees with
useful and informative sessions on:

Current and planned ITS programs and projects in the region

National, state and local ITS Initiatives

State-of-the-practice presentations on operations, ITS technology and applications
The meeting is intended to provide a forum for attendees,
ranging from engineers, planners, emergency managers and
responders, local and state officials, transit providers, vendors,
and enforcement personnel, to come together and discuss various
transportation issues and ITS solutions.
