Intelligent Transportation Society of America Welcomes Eight New Members
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Eight new companies from around the country
have joined the Intelligent Transportation Society of America (ITS
America), the nation's leading voice for the use of smart
technology to address transportation challenges. Our new members
include ABMB Engineers, Arada Systems, CBC America, Fehr &
Peers, GEWI, Metro Transit, Rear Window Media, and
Smart-Traveler.
New members
ABMB Engineers,
Inc. has provided engineering services across the country from
its offices in Louisiana and Mississippi for more than 20
years. The firm continues to take on high profile transportation
and civil works projects, such as reengineering bridges to increase
safety, designing frontage roads and interchanges to reduce highway
congestion, and developing traffic models for major cities.
Arada Systems
provides technologies and services to enhance Wi-Fi access and
capability for leading companies and organizations in an
increasingly connected environment. As Wi-Fi has expanded to new
markets, such as the design and everyday use of automotives, Arada
Systems provides technology engineered to make product development
more efficient.
CBC
(America) Corporation is the manufacturer of Computar and Ganz
Video surveillance solutions. Computar is the world's largest
producer of lenses for video surveillance. The Ganz brand has
assumed a parallel position in the production of a comprehensive
line of intelligent analog and IP-based video surveillance
solutions, and has recently expanded its full line of automotive
surveillance systems with the inception of Ganz Automotive.
Fehr &
Peers, a consulting firm in California, has provided
transportation planning and traffic engineering services to public
and private sector clients since 1985 on projects ranging from
local traffic and parking studies to major regional transportation
design. The firm offers expertise on an array of transportation
issues, including travel demand forecasting, smart growth and land
use planning, and operations and simulation for traffic, as well as
transit.
GEWI is the developer of
TIC, an off-the-shelf traffic and travel information software based
product used for a wide variety of government and commercial
uses. The TIC product has evolved over many years to meet the
demands of over 100 different projects in North America, South
America, Europe, Middle-East, and Asia-Pacific including Australia,
New Zealand, Singapore, and China. The features and functionality
of the current TIC3 product are a result of providing a solution to
meet the needs of all of these project requirements.
Metro Transit is
the transportation resource for the Twin Cities of Minnesota,
offering an integrated network of buses and trains as well as
resources for those who carpool, vanpool, walk or bike. The transit
system is one the nation's largest, averaging 240,000 passengers
per day on Metro Transit's buses and trains. The organization will
soon add Bus Rapid Transit to its list of options.
Rear Window
Media, a mobile digital advertising firm, offers an
unparalleled mobile technology that allows for targeted,
location-based messaging (LBM) with dynamic content and real-time
updates on, and in, vehicles while they are in transit. One of Rear
Window Media's main points of interest is the use of their
proprietary technology to assist with important traveler
information and community messaging.
SmartTraveler.Com
works in partnership with top suppliers in travel assistance,
driver information, and vehicle service facilities to create
programs that provide advanced digital assistance to travelers on
highways and other modes. Programs like the company's latest Vision
SM application, an online network compatible with PCs,
Macs, smartphones and navigation systems, gives users access to
real-time traffic reports and the ability track the locations of
the people and vehicles moving around them.
