Intelligent Transportation Society of America Announces Three New Board Members
Washington, D.C. - The Intelligent Transportation Society of America (ITS America) is pleased to announce three new appointees to its Board of Directors, a distinguished group of industry leaders who have the responsibility of establishing the strategic direction of the organization. The Board appointed Dr. Nady Boules, Director of General Motors' Electrical & Controls Integration lab, to complete the term of Sheryl Wilkerson who resigned from the Board last year. The Board also appointed Linda Watson, CEO of Lynx Transit Systems, and Erik Goldman, President of Hughes Telematics, to fill strategic gaps on the Board.
Meet our New Board Members
Dr. Nady Boules brings extensive experience in leading research and development for advanced electrical systems in vehicles. He has served as the Director of GM's Electrical & Controls Integration lab since March 2007. Boules joined GM in 1982, working in several positions where he led research related to automotive electronic systems. He received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in electrical engineering from Cairo University, Egypt, and a Doctorate of Engineering degree from the Technical University of Braunschweig, Germany. Boules has authored over 40 technical papers and patents, and was named a fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers in 1991.
Erik Goldman joins the ITS America Board of Directors with in-depth knowledge of the telecom and telematic industries. Since the company's inception in 2006, Goldman has served as President of Hughes Telematics, Inc. Prior to joining Hughes Telematics, Inc., Goldman spent nearly 25 years in varied engineering, operations and business development roles in the telecom and telematics industries, most recently as Vice President at SkyTerra Communications. Goldman earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan, a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois.
Linda Watson brings valuable experience using intelligent transportation systems (ITS) in the transit industry. Watson currently serves as the CEO of LYNX, the Central Florida Regional Transportation Authority. She has more than 25 years of experience in transportation, including her recent roles as the General Manager of the Corpus Christi Regional Transportation Authority and the Assistant General Manager of the Fort Worth Transportation Authority.
She is the past chair of the Transportation Research Board, a past member of the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) Executive Committee and a lifetime National Associate of the National Research Council of the National Academies. She also serves on a future technologies project panel for the National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP).Watson earned an M.A. in Urban and Regional Affairs and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Texas at Arlington Affairs and was recently honored as a "Distinguished Alumni."
