ITS America Welcomes Eight New Members in Fall 2010
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Intelligent
Transportation Society of America (ITS America) has welcomed eight
new companies and organizations from around the country this fall.
ITS America is the nation's leading advocate for the use of smart
technology to address transportation challenges. Our new members
include: Alameda County Congestion Management Agency, Marcus
Spectrum Solutions, Berkeley Transportation Systems, Capital Metro
Transit, EAC Consulting, Maser Consulting, Thousand Island Bridge
Authority, and Carrier & Gable.

The Alameda County
Congestion Management Agency was created in 1991 by a
joint-powers agreement between Alameda County, CA and all its
cities. The CMA's goals, duties and composition make it easier for
local governments to tackle the increasingly complex problem of
traffic congestion.
Marcus
Spectrum Solutions, based in Washington, D.C., is a consulting
practice with more than 25 years of spectrum policy deliberations,
pioneer of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth regulation, experienced in
regulatory bodies in three continents, and a pioneer in innovative
solutions to spectrum for new technologies.
Berkeley
Transportation Systems (BTS) is a transportation systems
consultant firm based in Berkeley, CA. The BTS team is made up of
computer science and transportation engineering specialists that
are active in many ITS areas, but the focus of the company is on
transportation data systems.
Capital
Metropolitan Transit Authority was founded in 1985 to serve the
transit needs of the greater Austin, TX metro area. Capital Metro
transports more than 130,000 passenger trips each day and opened
MetroRail service in March 2010. Capital Metro is led by President
& CEO Linda S. Watson, who serves on the ITS America Board of
Directors.
Based in Miami, FL, EAC
Consulting provides innovative engineering solutions in the
areas of transportation, civil, building/miscellaneous structures,
water resources program management, construction management, and
public involvement.
Maser
Consulting P.A. is a leading consulting engineering firm
headquartered in Red Bank, NJ serving the Northeast Region since
1984. The company provides a range of services including
transportation/traffic engineering, bridges/structures engineering,
and environmental services.
The Thousand
Island Bridge Authority is based out of Alexandria Bay, New
York and its bridge system extends from Collins Landing, NY to Ivy
Lea, Ontario covering a distance of 8.5 miles and over 2,000,000
annual vehicle crossings.
Carrier & Gable has
specialized in traffic control and highway safety products since
the mid 1940s. Its products and services include emergency priority
traffic signaling, vehicle detection cameras, anti-icing systems
and crash cushions for cement barrier walls and bridge piers.
