Spotlight on TxPROS Highlights Texas’ Innovative System for Permitting and Routing Oversize/Overweight Trucks
Oversize/overweight trucks move high-value cargo critical to the state’s economy. Typical loads include drilling rigs, pre-fabricated construction components, large transformers and generators. More unusual items include the White House Christmas tree, the Space Shuttle, generators for Japan’s tsunami victims, airplanes and houses. Texas is the nation’s leader in the safe permitting and routing of these large and sometimes unusual loads. Now the state has the best system to process the workload thanks to the Texas Permitting and Routing Optimization System (TxPROS).
Join us for a TxPROS demonstration, celebration and award presentation and see how this innovative system improves safety on state roads and the efficiency of Texas’ motor carrier industry.
The Intelligent Transportation Society of America (ITS America) will present the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) and the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) with a "Smart Solution Spotlight Award" that recognizes TxPROS as an innovative technology project with impacts on improved public safety and mobility.
