ITS Pennsylvania To Host Annual Meeting in Pittsburgh
State Rep and House Transportation Committee Chairman Rick Geist to Keynote
Pittsburgh, PA –The Intelligent Transportation Society of Pennsylvania (ITS PA) today announced that it will host its Annual Meeting on August 13-14, 2012 at the PNC Park Lexus Club in Pittsburgh. In addition to technical sessions, the Annual meeting will feature an Exhibition of the latest transportation technology solutions and a Workshop on Active Transportation and Demand Management, sponsored by FHWA.
During the August 14th 12:15 – 1:30pm session, State Representative and PA House Transportation Committee Chairman Rick Geist will give a keynote presentation and the “2012 Best of ITS Awards” will be presented. Over 100 ITS professionals from across Pennsylvania representing business, government and academia are expected to attend.
“ITS Pennsylvania is excited to hold this year’s annual meeting in Pittsburgh,” said ITS PA President Steve Rozyckie. “In this region we have seen great examples of intelligent transportation applications such as PennDOT posting estimated travel times on the Parkway East, Carnegie Mellon’s Traffic21 providing travelers with real time parking and transit information and Cranberry Township’s state-of- the art traffic management center, just to name a few.”
