ITS America Welcomes 17 New Members in January and February!

Washington D.C. – The Intelligent Transportation Society of America (ITS America) welcomed 17 companies and organizations from around the world as new members during the months of January and February.  ITS America is the nation’s leading advocate for the use of technology to address transportation challenges.

Recent new members include:  Activu Corporation; Advanced Transportation Concepts, Inc.; Belden, Inc.; Bendix; BMW; Car Buddy Corporation; Clemson University; Florida International University; Ford Motor Company; Hewlett Packard; Intel Corporation; Keystone Public Affairs; Mid-Region Council of Governments; Parkmobile; Simrex; Skyline Network Engineering; Stantec Consulting Services, Inc.

Activu Corporation – A software development and information technology company based in New Jersey, Activu serves transit and transportation agencies by providing network-based solutions to better manage traffic incidents, improve emergency responder time and reduce congestion.

Advanced Transportation Concepts, Inc. – Based in La Quinta, California, Advanced Transportation Concepts is the developer of the Highway Sky Mover, an elevated transportation vehicle utilizing solar power designed to integrate seamlessly with existing infrastructure.

Belden, Inc. – Based in St. Louis, Missouri, Belden, Inc. designs, manufactures and markets cable, connectivity and networking products in markets including industrial automation, enterprise, transportation, infrastructure, and consumer electronics.  The company has manufacturing capabilities in North America, Europe and Asia, and a market presence in nearly every region of the world.

Bendix – With its international state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities, Bendix has been setting the industry safety standard for commercial vehicle air brake charging and control systems for decades and has continued its leadership to further advance safety technologies for heavy vehicles.

BMW - Headquartered in Munich, Germany, BMW has long been a technology leader in the automotive industry.  The company's recent focus has been connecting drivers, passengers, and the outside world through a holistic approach to enhanced vehicle occupant and road user protection by incorporating active safety, passive safety and post-crash technologies.

Car Buddy Corporation – Based in San Diego, California, Car Buddy Corporation services in the area of vehicle accessories.

Clemson University – Formed in 1995, graduates of Clemson University’s College of Science and Engineering have made significant contributions to South Carolina, the nation and the world.  The College is made up of 14 schools and departments allowing an uncommon ability to provide a team-based, integrated approach to teaching and research.

Florida International University – Located in Miami, Florida, Florida International University’s Civil and Engineering Department includes a focus on transportation, educating engineers on the design and maintenance issues involved in operating all forms of transportation facilities.

Ford Motor Company – One of the world’s most well-known American automakers, Ford is leading the way in vehicle innovation from advancements in fuel economy to safety technology.  Executive Chairman Bill Ford headlined the 2011 World Congress on Intelligent Transportation Systems in Orlando, Florida.

Hewlett Packard – Hewlett Packard (HP) Enterprise Services offers a holistic set of products and services to ITS customers, leveraging research and innovations from HP Labs and integrating products from its sister business units to deliver solutions that provide situational awareness, detect incidents, predict the impact of those incidents and allow users to respond appropriately.

Intel – Intel supports policies that help drive sustainable economic growth through Information and Communications Technology ( ICT)-enabled energy efficiency and clean energy innovation across every sector of the economy.  In the transportation realm, Intel develops microprocessors for use in vehicles and infrastructure applications and invests in new technology development via its Intel Capital arm.

Keystone Public Affairs – With over 23 years of experience working with Congress, federal and state agencies, Keystone Public Affairs serves clients by shaping communication and public relations strategies in a variety of fields, including transportation and infrastructure.

Mid-Region Council of Governments – In addition to planning and managing critical issues like agriculture, workforce, and land and water usage, the Mid-Region Council of Governments develops long-term and short-term transportation plans for both urban and rural sections the greater Albuquerque, New Mexico metropolitan area.

Simrex Corporation – Headquartered in Lancaster, New York, Simrex Corporation manufactures and services a wide variety of wireless products and solutions used worldwide for various traffic and intelligent transportation systems.

Skyline Network Engineering – Established in 2004 and headquartered in Maryland, Skyline supports the IT needs of several major Maryland agencies, including the Department of Transportation, serving the citizens of the State through effective technology development and management.

Stantec Consulting Services – Founded in 1954, Stantec provides professional consulting services for a wide variety of planning, engineering and design projects, supporting public and private sector clients in a diverse range of markets including transportation technology and infrastructure development across all modes.
