ITS America's Public Safety Advisory Group Announces Winter Meeting
WASHINGTON, DC, January 17, 2008 - The ITS America Public
Safety Advisory Group (PSAG) will hold its Winter Meeting on
Thursday, February 21, 2008 at the Washington Plaza Hotel, 10
Thomas Circle NW, in Washington DC. The meeting will be held from 8
a.m. to 3 p.m. PSAG members represent a broad range of
transportation safety interest and advise ITSA and US DOT on
transportation safety technologies.
Through its advice to ITS America and to the U.S. Department
of Transportation, the PSAG is dedicated to advancing public safety
across transportation modes and transportation services and
functions as a national objective. To this end, PSAG observes its
specified Operating Principles, including:

Public Safety Through Technology - the advancement of operator, passenger and public safety and security remains the first priority as advanced transportation technologies and intelligent transportation systems are deployed in the nation's multi-mode / multi-function transportation networks.

Public Safety Through Partnerships - public-private partnerships and creative institutional frameworks that serve to advance transportation safety and mobility are encouraged and will be promoted and facilitated through support of relevant public policy.

Public Safety Through Outreach - public information, educational and technology transfer programs will be developed and employed to create an awareness of national transportation safety and security goals and achievements.
