Telvent to Upgrade and Expand Pocahontas 895 Electronic Toll Collection System

Improvements to increase toll operations reliability and smooth flow

ROCKVILLE, MD, Nov. 11 - Intelligent Transportation Society of America member Telvent (NASDAQ: TLVT), the IT company for a sustainable and secure world, announced today that it won a contract from Transurban 895 LLC to upgrade and expand the Pocahontas 895 Electronic Toll Collection system in Virginia (United States).
Telvent will implement some of its Telvent SmartMobility™ management solutions for highways and tolls to enhance long-term reliability and convenience for Pocahontas 895 customers. This will also further enhance the efficiency and accuracy of toll operations, reducing travel time and minimizing drivers' and workers' inconvenience. The contract involves the upgrade of the existing E-ZPass electronic toll collection system including hardware and software, and the implementation of a new E-ZPass Open Road Toll (ORT) System. Telvent will also expand the current tolling system to include the new Airport Connector Road. In addition, Telvent will implement its Telvent SmartMobility™ Remote Operations and Maintenance System (ROMS) and its Telvent SmartMobility™ TollPro back office violations processing system.

This contract allows Telvent to strengthen its position in the US toll market as a technological leader in Electronic Toll Collection Systems. The Company has also been awarded contracts by the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority (CTRMA) for the development, implementation, and maintenance services of its Open Road Tolling system Greenfield project, and by MTA Bridges & Tunnels for the Software and Hardware Maintenance Enhancements and Upgrades of the MTA B&T E-ZPass system.
