ITS America Board Members (from left to right) Ken Philmus, Pat McGowan, and Ann Flemer join Annual Meeting Co-Chairman Tom Lambert and ITS America President and CEO Scott Belcher at the opening of the exhibit hall for ITS America's 20th Annual Meeting and Exhibition on May 3, 2010.
Over 2,000 people gathered in Houston for the ITS America Annual Meeting and Exposition. This was our biggest and most successful program to date! In case you weren't able to join us, here are just a few of the highlights:
-
U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood and IBM Chairman and CEO Sam Palmisano came together to discuss their visions for using transportation technology to help mobility, safety and the environment.
-
Over 125 companies and agencies packed the exhibit floor and offered technology demos, and the Best of ITS from across the county were recognized at our evening reception awards ceremony.
-
Secretary LaHood and senior U.S. DOT Officials were joined by Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, Harris County Judge Ed Emmett and other key leaders from the transportation industry and local, state and the federal government to discuss the upcoming surface transportation reauthorization bill and pressing issues facing the future of transportation funding.
-
ITS America welcomed a number of partner organizations who held meetings in conjunction with the event, including AASHTO, WTS International, and the Department of Homeland Security.
