Join us for a comprehensive discussion on how law enforcement, emergency management and the intelligence community are working together to improve the security of the North American supply chain and the sharing of information. This is an overview of North America’s SuperCorridor Coalition (NASCO) followed by an interactive panel and table-top discussion on what’s working and areas to improve. Since 1994, NASCO has been a leader at the forefront of uniting public and private sectors in the U.S., Canada and Mexico to address critical national and international trade, transportation, security and environmental issues. Join us as we report on the organization’s advances and learn how you can benefit from being involved. Houston-Galveston Regional Safety Council Meeting and Open Forum
Tuesday, May 4, 10:30 – 12:30 p.m.
The Houston-Galveston Area Council is the region-wide voluntary association of local governments in the 13-county Gulf Coast Planning region of Texas. Its Regional Safety Council (RSC) has been established to improve road safety in the region. Membership includes officials from local and State governments, transportation, law enforcement, health care, insurance, trucking, railroads and non-profit organizations involved in safety. The purpose of the Council is to promote information-sharing, establish safety goals and performance measures, coordinate safety efforts across the region's jurisdictions, and identify policy issues concerning safety. This is a business meeting and open forum of the Regional Safety Council to which all are welcome. The open forum segment will consist of several presentations, including one on Integrated Corridor Management (ICM), that are relevant to the Council’s work. All are welcome (both those from the Houston-Galveston area as well as those from around the country attending the ITS America Annual Meeting) to present ideas, comments, on topics of common interest.
