To strengthen the ITS community’s voice in the crowded policy debate, ITS America launched the Campaign for Intelligent Transportation Solutions to fund additional advocacy activities including media events, Congressional outreach, social media and our Smart Solution Spotlight initiative. More than a dozen ITS America members have sponsored the campaign working through a Legislative Steering Committee to influence MAP-21 (the surface transportation reauthorization bill) and promote ITS priorities to policymakers, the media and the broader transportation community. David St. Amant, President and COO of Econolite Control Products, Inc., serves as the Campaign Chair and Ann Flemer, Deputy Executive Director, Policy at the San Francisco Bay Area Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) and former Chair of ITS America's Board of Directors, serves as the Vice Chair.
In addition to helping promote key ITS priorities to policymakers and the media and raising the overall profile of the ITS community, there are a number of other benefits to sponsoring the campaign including marketing opportunities in ITS America’s newsletter and web site, priority points toward booth selection at future ITS America events, and free membership in our Congressional Roundtable.
