Nu graduated in 1991 with a degree from the FH Oldenburg in Germany. After working for a few years in Germany, Nu moved to the US in 1994 to start working at Telvent Farradyne (formerly PB Farradyne). In August 2010, he was offered a position with Intelligent Devices Inc. to expand IDI’s market share in several transportation industry sectors, where he worked on business development and on consultant contracts associated with the Connected Vehicle initiative’s DCM/DMA ITS Standards Coordination Plan and the USDOT’s Professional Capacity Building program. In July 2011, Nu accepted a position as Chief Technology Officer with ITS America.
In his 19 years of professional experience, Nu focused exclusively on ITS systems (design and implementations) and ITS Standards development and deployment. Being responsible for the deployment of 3rd party central system software packages provided a unique understanding of the importance of standards addressing interoperability and interchangeability. Nu was responsible for ITS Standards-based ATMS and ATIS systems that included center-to-field as well as center-to-center interfaces. Having been actively involved in ITS Standards over the last 12 years and being one of the primary authors of several NTCIP standards, Nu is very familiar with the ITS Systems Engineering Process as well as its theoretical and practical application to ITS standards development and ITS Systems design and deployment. He also served as instructor of the ITE OET program from 2002 to 2006 as well as instructor for the NHI DMS Procurement workshop.
