Cherie Gibson is the new Director of Communications for the Intelligent Transportation Society of America.  For the last year, she’s been working as a communications and marketing consultant for ITSA promoting the 18th World Congress on ITS in Orlando.  Cherie comes to ITS America from the Georgia State Road & Tollway Authority where she served as Marketing and Communications Director for the past two years.  Among other responsibilities, she was in charge of public outreach and communications for the state’s first High Occupancy Toll lane conversion project and electronic toll collection product “Peach Pass”.  She previously served as Corporate Communications Manager for the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA), and before that held key positions with the Raleigh Police Department and the North Carolina Department of Transportation.  Cherie received her Master’s degree from Duke University and her Bachelor’s from the University of North Carolina.
