Director of Standards Initiatives

Tyler joins ITS America, having previous worked as the Technical Programme Manager at the ISO Central Secretariat in Geneva, Switzerland where he oversaw the management of all transport related ISO technical committees. Prior to joining ISO, Mr. Messa served as the Director of International Standards at the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) in Washington, DC, where, among his many duties he served as both International Secretary and US TAG Administrator for ISO/TC204 - Intelligent Transport Systems.

After completing his Master’s degree, he began working as a research analyst studying U.S. government science and technology programs for a small Japanese consulting firm. He then served as an international trade and technology analyst for the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Washington, DC and later as a Project Manager for the Korea Industrial Technology Foundation (KOTEF) in Seoul, Korea where he assisted the Korean government in establishing international collaborative partnerships in the high tech industry.
